Marc Jacob V.S Primark

Well, Primark, this is the clothes store that makes Topshop look expensive. As London fashion week opens, talk is not of haute couture but of the announcement by this high street retailer that its growth has doubled in the past six months.

It is easy to see the appeal, but prices aren’t the whole story. Primark’s secret ingredient is the catwalk. Over the past year, an increasing number of items have been “influenced” by the catwalk. The company has promised that for every season’s collection will be “very recognizable” from the trends you are seeing on the catwalk right now”.

For example, here is the Marc Jacob military style jacket.

It is a cotton moleskin effect military style jacket with hook and eye closure at centre front and symmetrical button detail running down the front. This jacket features a mandarin collar, two closed pockets and velvet. Which costs £425.

But Primark's version of military jacket is only £12.99.

Similarly, this jacket has fabulous turn back lapels in military style, with military buttons. The front of the jacket fastens with hook & eye fasteners. The jacket also features a peplum hem. Altogether makes a totally fabulous little jacket, which can be compared with the Marc Jacob version.
